Karthik S Kumar was a small screen actor before making debut in the glamor world. He rose to fame by playing the role of Abhay in the Kannada TV serial ‘JotheJotheyali'. He took part in the audition of the serial and got selected to play the role. He has also completed his engineering studies and has a sportive mind. He is a good basketball player and finds dancing as his only passion. He is well trained to do various kinds of dance just as ‘Free Style and Hip Hop’. Karthik Kumar is an ardent fan of Hrithik Roshan. He considers Hrithik as his style icon.

He made a big sceeen debut with the film "Kiss" directed by AP Arjun. He also changed his screen name to Viraat for this movie.
